Class 7: Final Preparation: Choosing a Javascript programming track
Khan Academy:
I enjoyed the Khan tutorials and found them to be easy to follow and fairly simple and concise. All of the videos were nicely paced and everything is explained very clearly. I think this is the best site overall for learning to program in Javascript, and is by far the most accessible and easiest to navigate.
Learn Street:
Learn Streets tutorials were much more interactive than the Khan tutorials, and this helps as a more hands on learning experience. I personally would use them both together, first watching the Khan video and then flipping through the Learn Street tutorials to see each step highlighted and explained. However I think overall that Khan academy was more thorough than Learn, and that is a major downfall of the site.
Code Academy:
This page was interesting and requires you to work the most towards learning how to program from the start, without fully explaining it all beforehand. It is more of a learn as you go, and very slowly, approach to learning in Javascript. I do like to hear things explained first, but I also work very well learning as I go and improvising along the way. I think these tutorials are the most effective at getting you started with programming right away and I would recommend Code Academy to someone who likes to learn very slowly so as to absorb everything completely.
After reviewing the three, I would probably stick with Khan Academy.
