Class 8: Assignment 4: Exploring JME

The Applet didn't work for me

Basic Test from Web Start
I had trouble with the WebStart Launcher at first. After trying a second time, I realized it was being blocked and I was being prompted at the top of my screen. WebStart is very basic compared to things available in Showcase.

Grappling Hook from Showcase(JME2)
Showcase had a few interesting demos to try out and I tried the JME 2 Grappling Hook scenario, as well as the JME 3 mTheoryGame. Hard to maneuver in Grappling Hook, but an interesting little game nonetheless. It ran fairly smoothly and had far more in comparison to the simple WebStart tests, which took some time to initiate on my out of date computer.

This is the mTheoryGame app (JME3)

After opening it and starting, it went to this graphic and crashed shortly after. I tried it multiple times with the same results.

In order to get a better handle on the JME vs. C++ rendering speed and quality, after playing World of Warcraft, I tried to go back and try something other than mTheoryGame, but I was unable to get any of them to run without crashing, or not starting at all after installation, such as Mythruna.
